Who is mtu wa air?
Mtu wa air who is James Mathai, is one of the most loved celebrity in this jurisdiction and worldwide. I started as mtu wa redio where I was interacting with radio personalities in big local and international stations. Afterwards I penetrated into TV where I shared my thoughts with media personalities which made me gain fame in 254 very fast. My goal was to be extraordinary and go beyond boundaries which is how I became a global sensation. It does not matter whether it is Europe or America, my name is known by everybody all over the world. You can find me on TV, radio and internet where I am heard. How did you become famous? I have this ability where I can be heard on TV, radio and online channels. I have used this gift from God to become the most famous person alive worldwide. Did I say I achieved that from our motherland Kenya? Yes, anything is possible if you only believe in yourself like I do. What is your biggest achievement as mtu wa air? I could easily say it is watching Everton FC playing at Kasarani Stadium, Nairobi and being a star spectator who appeared on TV. But my biggest achievement is speaking to astronauts in space. I could not imagine out of my wildest thoughts that I could be heard there. In addition to that, I have spoken to different political leaders, including POTUS among other presidents all over the world. Where did you go to school? My education journey began at Our Lady of Mercy Primary School in South B. From there I joined Elite Junior School in Nyahururu, where I attained 405 marks out of 500 in KCPE. From there, I went to Nyeri High School and I got B+ of 70 points in KCSE. These marks booked me a slot at a world class university called Kenyatta University, where I studied a degree in Heath Services Management before graduating in 2014. In addition, I studied CPA at Strathmore University which I completed in 2014. Are you employed and where do you work? No, I am not employed by anyone but I work for myself which means I am my own boss. I am a successful freelance writer with many years of experience working with clients abroad. My virtual business which I started 5 years ago is called IPM Admin Services. What are your plans for the future? My plans for the future is to become an MP. I chose this path because I want to leave behind a legacy before my time to be with my creator comes. What I promise my fellow constituents in Lang’ata is that I will be a servant leader with the sole purpose of helping my people there. In fact, I go by the mantra “mtu wa air ni mtu wa watu.” What is your hobby? When I had the legs to play, I was playing football for my school team. These days because I still love sports, you will find me on weekends watching football at a local bar. I am a die-hard Arsenal and Paris Saint Germain fan. What do you hate the most? As a celebrity in this country I hate people who try to bring others down. Just like any other celeb, I’ve got my haters. I love my family and fans because they are always there to congratulate me when I attain something big. Your favorite food is? Chapati served with beef stew. No, I am not dating at the moment but my dream is to settle down with one woman when the right time comes. If you think you are my type and you would like me to know you, please feel free to approach me (laughs silently). My ideal partner is someone who has gone to school and finished and likes to go out and have some fun. It can be boring to stay at home because of the pandemic. What should I know about you that you have not said? I was born in Chicago, United States but I only stayed there for 1 month before I was air lifted to Kenya. By James Mathai Last week I was at Two Rivers Mall located along Limuru Road on your way to Ruaka. This magnificent shopping mall which is owned by billionaire Chris Kirubi sits on 65,000 sq m piece of land and is the stand out architecture along the busy Limuru Road. On my way to Two Rivers Mall, I passed the nearby high end estate Runda, which is clear the mall was constructed to serve the rich and middle class residents living in the area. The mall can also be accessed using the Northern Bypass if you are coming from Membley Estate, Kahawa West, and Githurai 44. After arriving at the mall on board a matatu headed to Limuru, I alighted at Ruaka which is a middle class estate in Kiambu County. To be honest, Ruaka is a great hood for anyone who wants to live outside Nairobi City and still enjoy amenities such as modern housing, schools, shopping mall, and restaurants. I had my lunch at one of the many restaurants located at the neighborhood and I have to say it was quite tasty. Soon after, I walked down Limuru road to Two Rivers which is located about 300 meters from Ruaka Shopping Centre. Before I entered the flashy urban shopping mall, I was blown away by the exquisite artwork just outside the gate. As usual, I could not pass this brilliant artwork without taking the photo below. Soon after it was time to enter the giganormous shopping mall by foot. At the gate, you will be checked by security guards before entering their premises. Cars are also supposed to undergo security scrutiny so as to negate a case of terrorist attack as witnessed at Westgate in the last decade. Inside the Two Rivers Mall Before you enter Two Rivers Mall, you will undergo a second security check before you are granted permission to do your shopping. Based on what I saw, I must say that their security is quite good and that they are not leaving anything to chance. In fact, inside the mall you will bump into armed law enforcers as well as security guards who are hired for the sole purpose of keeping the building and shoppers safe. Just before I entered Carrefour supermarket to do my bi-weekly shopping, I went round the mall to check out some of the stores based at Two Rivers. Here, you can expect to find these stores under the following categories:
Entertainment Most malls all over the world have entertainment spots such as cinemas, video games, virtual reality gaming, and amusement park where kids and adults alike can enjoy themselves. Two Rivers Mall has not been left behind and in my own opinion it is the mall with the best entertainment in this country. Established malls like Village Market used to stand out because their water world allowed customers to swim and slide in immaculate waters but the water world was removed. However, Two Rivers does not allow you to swim in their waters but you can enjoy activities such as boating and kayaking. In addition, they have a Funscapes Themepark where the entire family can have lots of fun on the water. The Magic Planet is an exciting place where you can enjoy video games, rides, and soft play. If you are looking for an adrenaline rush while having fun then you can choose ATV biking which will cost you between Kes. 800 to Kes. 2000. Dancing Fountains is a wonderful place for taking photos with your loved one or even propose to your soul mate. But of all of these entertainment spots, the “Two Rivers Wheel” which resembles the London Eye has to be the best of the rest. The first time I visited this mall I was left speechless after I saw this gigantic wheel. Although I didn’t have the chance to ride on this mind blowing wheel, I assume that once you reach the top you can see the entire neighborhood of Runda and Ruaka. Of course, I’m planning on visiting the mall again and once I do that, I will hop onto this magnificent wheel and see how far you can watch from the top. People at the mall The shoppers and traders at the mall are quite friendly, and you will find a good mix of Africans, Asians, Caucasians, and the Whites (Europe and Northern America) here at Two Rivers Mall. This is good if you are like me and you want to experience global culture in Kenya. Just by observing these expats and tourists from around the world, you can learn something and how they live abroad. History Two Rivers Mall is one of the most recent malls to be constructed in the country back in 2017 at a cost of Sh. 25.1 billion. This immaculate mall in Runda was constructed by a company dubbed Two Rivers Lifestyle Company Ltd. Its main shareholder is one and only Chris Kirubi who owns about 58 percent of the shopping mall. The second leading shareholder is Avic which controls 39 percent of the mall’s ownership. The third and final shareholder of Two Rivers Mall is ICDC which owns 3 percent of the mall. Verdict Of all the malls which I have visited in the past decade or so, I have to say that Two Rivers Malls stands out from the rest at least in Kenya. I might not know about East Africa, but going with the fact that this country is a leading economic hub in the region, then there is no question that this mall is the best. The likes of Garden City Mall and Westgate have high end stores and great architecture but they come short when I put them against the mother of all malls which is Two Rivers Mall. What blew me away was their entertainment spot which is second to none. The mall has ample parking space at the basement which is safe. Out of 5 stars, I will give Two Rivers Mall 4.5 stars. Just so you know I am not paid to write this review so it should not be viewed as a marketing blog. I want to wish all my readers a happy and prosperous 2020. Keep checking my blog for the next mall I will review. At the moment you can review some of the photos I took below at Two Rivers Mall. 15.1.2017 by James Mathai Every day we are faced with challenges which leaves us feeling overwhelmed and drained. From our families when we see loved ones struggle with illness to our professions when we miss out on a dream job even though we did everything to ace the interview. Life can be full of twists and turns that no one seem to comprehend. One day you are soaring like an eagle the next you are down on your knees. Sometimes these adversities come at unexpected time that we start to think we are cursed or brought to this world to suffer. We ought to know that these challenges can face anyone and they are not unique to us alone.
Perhaps you are wondering how it is possible to turn an adversity and use it to your own advantage. I don't know what you are going through right now but I know how you choose to react to your adversities can make a huge difference in your pursuit to overcame them. After I left my last employers to follow my dreams of becoming a freelancer and a life coach many people thought I was crazy including my parents. Leaving the security of a regular paycheck to pursue a career full of uncertainties is a step very few would want to take. That morning when I handed my resignation letter to my boss I was scared. Not sure whether I was making the right decision or not. My intuition kept telling me I was doing the right thing though my real self was halfheartedly agreeing with it. The reason I wasn't too convinced with myself was because I had never tested the waters of the freelance world and had no clue what to expect. All I knew at that time is that I had a laptop (which I'm using to write this) and a modem that could be my next big breakthrough. Like any freelancer would tell you, it needs a thick skin to cut it through this competitive and uncertain sharing economy. I learnt that the hard way. My parents decided because I had gone against their wishes of working at a soul-sucking job (story for another day) I had to leave their home! I'm not only jobless trying to figure out how I can make ends meet as a freelancer but I'm soon to be homeless too. I had to think out of the box and very fast without letting my circumstances swallow me alive. Luckily for me maintaining a positive mindset is something I had always practiced and used whole my life. I knew I had some savings in my account that could sustain me for several months as I figured out how I could start making money online. I did my research and sifted through the many sites online searching for affordable places where I could live with my savings alone. I found a place just outside the capital which I called home for nearly nine months. The first two weeks at my new home I used to settle down and adjust to my new neighborhood. The third week I started coming up with ideas of how I could start earning money as I learnt the trade of becoming a freelancer. It took me some time to get going and had to settle for some odd gigs just to avoid putting too much strain on my quickly diminishing savings. The experiences I got doing these odd jobs reminded me that I'm not the only one going through adversities. You look at someone smartly dressed in a suit and tie driving a big car and think he has a perfect life. You might not tell it from the outset but nobody has a perfect life. That is a perfect career, a perfect family or perfect health. The truth is everyone is facing or has faced adversities in their lives. Knowing this will help you look at life differently and appreciate what you have (that someone else does not have). Keeping a positive mindset when faced with challenges is something that can be difficult to achieve but not impossible. Sometimes when I look back at how I manage to overcome my early struggles I get amazed. Not because I thought I could not handle them, because of how I managed to stay positive during the darkest and lowest moments of my life. I never regret my decision to leave my day job. Doing what I love rather than being chained to the desk at a boring job is something I've always wanted. I chose not to listen to my parents or colleagues who thought I was crazy because I knew my journey is something only a few can understand. The rest will only think I have lost it. I did this because I believed in myself. If you think you have what it takes to make it in whatever you choose to do not even the words of your closest ones can put you down. My story is just one in a million out there and in case you haven’t gotten anything out of it (which I know you have) just remember these; keeping a positive attitude when facing adversities in your life is something you cannot afford to ignore. I cannot teach you how to do this but only you can. Instead of looking at your problems as challenges look at them as opportunities that can help you grow as a person. Missing out on a dream job sucks. It has happened to me before and that feeling is woeful. But just because you failed to get that job doesn't mean it's the end of the world for you. When one door of opportunity closes another one opens thus goes the old adage. But sometimes as imperfect humans we tend to focus so much on the shut door that we fail to notice the door that is opened before us. There's no denying that opportunities can come disguised as problems. Even the Bible says that Jesus will come disguised as a thief. That should tell you something. If you choose to look at it as a problem you will only see that. Problem. If you choose to look at it as possible opportunities you will have endless opportunities. God cannot put us through difficult times if He knew we cannot overcome them. He knows that the adversities we face are learning opportunities that could help us grow and become more resilient when faced with similar challenges in the future. Just like a road cannot miss a corner, life cannot miss challenges. Adversities are there to increase our resolve. Whatever life throws at you always remember to look at it in a positive way and you will come out victorious. |
